"...You can tell seaside eateries mainly deal with farmers and fishermen as they tend to be stripped down, scruff-as-you-please places. Check out The Shed in Porthgain, Wales a rustic bistro right on the seafront, where the husband catches the fish for the wife to cook..."
Telegraph July 2007
Britain's top 30 seaside restaurants - No 19 The Shed .... Decor is from the nets-and-driftwood school of design, food is straight from the sea ....the cooking is sophisticated .."
ABITETOEAT Western Mail June 2007
"a wonderful plaice for great fish You can find meat on the menu at The Shed in Pothgain but might be missing the oint. Most people come here to enjoy fish - yards from the sea in the village on the Pembrokeshire coast path, a few miles from St Davids 8/10"

Review of The Shed Wine Bar & Bistro
'Pure unadulterated joy!' exclaimed the 'True Taste of Wales' judges before awarding the Shed its 'Regional Gold' award.
Telegraph Travel Aug 2006
"Rob Jones - a third generation fisherman - and his wife Caroline opened this four years ago .... . Now it is AA Welsh Seafood Restaurant of the Year. On the quayside - so strictly beachfront or clifftop - but this former carpenter's shed for a quarry works is only 10 yards from the sea, and the emphasis is very much on locally caughtt fish and seafood."

The Shed Tea Room Bistr and Wine Bar: the place to be in Porthgaain"
Observer Feb 2005
"Rob and Caroline jones deserve credit for sheer audacity. Thet opened as a tearoomin an old harbourside building with no mains water or electricity, .... in 2001. Now The Shed is a tiny bistro with proper loos and an AA Rosette, but Rob still catches all the fish and Caroline serves up Porthgain's crab with fresh basil and lime, or scallops with carrot butter sauce and pasta"
Commendations for The Shed

"Having been 'born and bred' in Wales and lived in Haverfordwest up until about 20 years ago. I moved my family back to Pembs from Buckinghamshire in May of this year. To make things complete we needed a 'regular' venue for our weekly lunch out. We have tried a number of bistros in the area over the last few months; and then we found yours - search over1
Looking forward to many more delightful dihes with you ..." D+J G
